We will be meeting at the Brownsburg K-Mart parking lot (267 and just south of I-74). Be there by 8:00 AM, I'd like to leave by 8:15. We are taking my 15 passenger van (thanks to all those that volunteered cars, but my wife and family found a mini-van to use for the week). We will be traveling to the Schafer's parent's home in Mora, MN (about 60 miles north of St. Paul).
We'll spend the night at the Schafer's farm (in tents) and then drive on to Canoe Country Outfitters. After taking care of paper work and getting our equipment we will head to Fall Lake near Ely, MN. Depending on the time, we have the choice to head out on the lake or stay that night at Moose Lake Campground and then head out the next morning.
We will return the on Friday, August 5. We will shower, change, and feast somewhere around Ely. After we're fat and full, we'll head back to the Schafer's farm for the night. Saturday morning will be an early breakfast and then back to Avon.
At this time I will drop each person off at their house since it will be late and hard to figure out an exact time. After all, I will only have to make three stops to drop off Squirrel, the Browns, and Mr. Turpen.
FOOD During Drive - I will be giving each person $5 for lunch and $5 for dinner on the way up and back during our 12 hours drive. Anything beyond that will need to be covered by you. We may also stop past a Cabela's on the way back home. There are also items that can be purchased at the outfitters.
I'm really excited... see you tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM !
There is a full packing list and some details of the trip on the web site too.
