The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
Some museum exhibits have special hours. The 8th Air Force Control Tower and Nissen Hut, located in the Air Park, are open from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday from January through March (closed Monday through Thursday) and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily April through December.
The Presidential and R&D Galleries are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Click here for requirements on visiting those galleries, which are located on the controlled-access portion of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
- We will be wearing Class A uniforms at the museum (it really helps the adults track everyone, and helps young men keep "On their Honor" at all times)
- Scouts can wear "normal" clothes on Friday and Sunday as we travel
- Please eat before you arrive at the Scout Hut or pack dinner. We will only be having a late snack at the camp site Friday night. I will be making a stop around Richmond on the way there.
- Leaving Scout Hut at 5:00 pm Friday
- A simple sandwich lunch will be provided Saturday at the museum
- Planning to return Sunday to the Scout Hut around 12:30 - 1:00 pm. we are not planning on stopping for lunch on the way home, so you may have hungry boys when you pick up your scout.
- No group is going early Friday so we will be putting tents up in the dark -- Make sure scouts bring flashlights !
- Don't forget your mess kit
- Scouts may want to bring a little money to cover snacks or any trinkets from the gift store.
