On Saturday, March 22, the Wundchenneu Chapter (Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow) will be hosting the Second Annual Al White Memorial Trail hike on the Bradford Woods north property. The trail runs 7.25 miles in length, but both 5.25 mile and 3.5 mile options are available for the less ambitious hiker.
The trail was named in remembrance of long time Scouter, Al White, who died in October 1963 following a propane gas explosion at a Holiday on Ice Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum. The Al White Memorial Trail was originally dedicated in his honor on April 30, 1966 and operated for 36 years until its closure in 2002. Through a continued relationship between the Wundchenneu Chapter and Indiana University, the trail will reopen after a decade of inactivity.
Check-in begins at approx. 8:30AM and overnight camping available through Bradford Woods at (765) 342-2915.
For more information, contact Jim Parks at 317-856-3471.
