Attention Scouts and Parents,
We have an exciting opportunity for those interested in receiving their FCC Technicians License, including scouts and adult leaders! The Hendricks County Amateur Radio Society is providing classes that will prepare you for your FCC license test. The class meets every Wednesday at 7:00 PM, starting January 28th and ending March 11th. The classes are located at the Senior Center behind the Hendricks County Hospital, next to the water tower, in Danville. Besides the classes, which are also fee-less, other testing may be provided by WD9BSA for free during the last week, on March 11th! The normal fee would be $15.00, so this is a great time to get the license for FREE. The only catch is that they usually require 15 people to sign up, so again this the BEST time to sign up and get your license. There will be some class materials that will be needed to be purchased, but the specific book has not yet been verified. Those that pass their Technicians test may also be eligible to win a FREE dual band hand held radio (Requires a license to operate) sponsored by our troop.
Scouting has a merit badge for Radio and working towards this merit badge is the goal for our troop.
