A memorial service and gathering will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Gilliland-Howe funeral home in Greensburg Indiana from 1-3 PM.

David's Life Legacy

54, of Avon, passed away surrounded by his family on December 9, 2018. He was born in Greensburg, IN on December 28, 1963 to Charles and Wanda (Hatton) Emsweller. David was a graduate of North Decatur High School, class of 1982, and went on to receive his associate’s degree in Computer Science from Ivy Tech. He married the love of his life, Susan on June 7th , 1997 and was most recently a Database Administrator for the State of Indiana’s IT department.

David enjoyed photography, camping, and golf. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, Pack 391 and Troop 306 in Avon. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and being active in their lives. He will always be remembered as a loving father and husband.

David is survived by his wife, Susan (Shellhamer) Emsweller; sons, Duncan and Ethan Emsweller; father, Charles Emsweller; sisters, Nancy (Jim) Fletcher and Becky (Greg) Gault; brothers, Chuck (Brenda) Emsweller, Rick (Connie) Emsweller, and Scott (Tina) Emsweller; mother- in- law, Jane Oaks; sisters- in-law, Beth (Erik) Tysklind and Judith (Mark) Kuhn; brother- in- law, Rob (Denise) Shellhamer; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda.

A memorial service and gathering will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Gilliland-Howe funeral home in Greensburg Indiana from 1-3 PM.
